I’ve recently been watching some YouTube videos about being in business. These videos are eye openers to what some people are doing, compared to me, but there are some things I can draw a similarity on. Some things you do in business seem obvious, such as doing a good job, making sure the customer is satisfied, planing out your diary and turning up on time. These are the things that you do on automatic, but what I didn’t realise is that not all business owners get these basic right causing a huge failure rate in small businesses.
Some of the stats that I’m learning are very very interesting, over 50% of businesses last 2-3 years and then fail and only 5% of all businesses make it to 10 years. That made me think about my business Telford Caravan Services, we are now into our 9th year and bookings for the first quarter of 2026 are looking good so far. I’ve got some plans for the year to come, I want to offer more to my customers, not just caravan servicing or motorhome habitations, but extra services or offers that hopefully will be attractive to everyone.
I’m very much looking forward to our 10th year and beyond, I’m very proud to have such a loyal customer base which is growing every year.
