Why do Caravan wheels fall off?

The simple answer is the wheel bolts come loose, that’s why the caravan wheels fall off. So the question now becomes, why do the wheel bolts come loose? Caravan wheels are held on by four or five bolts which clamp the wheel to the hub, so in reality it's clamping force that holds a wheel in place. With the correct torque (tightness) on the bolt the wheel has been tested by the manufacturer to be stable and secure for traveling, but if those bolts are old or stretched then the clamping force can be lost in transit.

Powered drain down videos such as those on YouTube shows us that even though we go through the drain down procedure there is still almost a litre of water lurking in the water pipes.
